P&O Ferries, the leading cross channel ferry operator with the largest UK fleet of ships has implemented IMX Software’s GTS-Reserve & Collect in line with its drive to improve the availability of its retail foreign exchange trading service. The ferry operator selected the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) version as a quick route to market whilst seamlessly integrating with P&O’s current e-commerce offering.

P&O Ferries who won the award for “Best Ferry Company of the Year” in 2012 from Globe Travel Awards already had a thriving Foreign Exchange on-board business and wanted to expand the ordering options for their customers to incorporate modern ordering channels and improve their forecasting of supplies.

IMX Software’s SaaS-based solution will help P&O Ferries boost transaction turnover and lower operating costs allowing better control and optimisation of stock levels. The solution will enable P&O to reduce human error and speed up transaction times at the point of sale.

Says Joe Cianter, Head of Financial Services at P&O: “We’re constantly looking for ways to offer our customers a better travelling experience, and GTS-Reserve & Collect supports that goal by enabling us to improve the performance of our retail foreign exchange service by offering a smoother customer experience and improved pricing.”

Marcus Custance, Sales Director of IMX Software commented: “We are delighted to have worked with P&O to add this new module to the GTS suite, increasing our online capabilities whilst ultimately seamlessly integrating to GTS-Retail PoS, for a complete straight through process. P&O has been a long standing customer of IMX and we expect this new module will help P&O grow their business share of this evolving marketplace.”
